This is a nice set of five green stoneware barrel mugs made by the Nelson McCoy Pottery Company in the late 1920s or the early 1930s. Four of the mugs have the McCoy shield mark with the number 4 inside it. One has the number 16 underlined. One of the shield marks is a little different from the others as the 4 is formed a little differently. One of the other mugs with the shield mark is a lighter green color than the others. The mug with the underlined 16 also is patterned a little differently. All the mugs are in excellent condition for their age. One has a small chip in the bottom and another has a slight age crack in the glaze. There are also some glaze pops. The mugs measure about 4 3/4" tall and 3" in diameter.
